LaRue R. (Kieffer) Younker, 76 of Blandon, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 3, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born in Pottsville and was the daughter of the late Ralph I. Kieffer and Edith M. (Tobias) Kieffer. LaRue was preceded in death by her companion, the late Leroy H. Schultz, with whom she shared many years.

LaRue graduated from Fleetwood High School in 1965 and had a long career at the former Western Electric Company in Reading, which later became Lucent Technologies. After 43 years, she retired from Agere Technologies and Solutions.

Above all, LaRue cherished her family and dedicated her time to them, especially her granddaughters and great-grandson. She had a passion for shopping and enjoyed spending time at the beach during vacations. LaRue found relaxation in the pages of books as an avid reader.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy L. (Younker) Evett, and her husband, Patrick S. Evett. LaRue is also survived by her granddaughters, Amanda L. (Prokop) Henson and her husband, Juliah R. Henson, and Holli A. (Prokop) Baldassare and her husband, Frankie Baldassare, as well as a great-grandson, Tanner R. Henson. Additionally, she is survived by two sisters: Frances A. (Kieffer) Kohl, wife of Barry N. Kohl, and Donna L. (Kieffer) Kline, wife of Bruce L. Kline, along with two nieces and two nephews.

LaRue will be deeply missed, not only by her family but also by her faithful pets, Jax and Belle.

A viewing will take place on Sunday evening, July 9th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home located at 117 W. Main Street, Fleetwood. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 10th, with the viewing from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by the service at 11:00 AM. LaRue will be laid to rest at Fleetwood Cemetery.
