Lee E. Hertzog, Jr., age 68, of Reading, passed away on Thursday December 7, 2017 in Penn State Health St. Joseph's. He was the husband of Nancy F. (Harbonic) Hertzog they celebrated 48 years of marriage on July 5 th .

Lee was born on December 10, 1948 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The son of the late Lee E. Hertzog Sr. and Anna (Dimaio) Hertzog.

He was a 1966 graduate of Oley High School.

Lee had worked for the former Diamond Furniture Factory for 15 years. After the factory closing he started Hertzog Quality Upholstery, Reading for 11 years. Lee than became a courier for American Eagle Express, Reading for 11 years retiring in 2010.

A member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Fleetwood. Lee was a very active member of Travelers Protective Association where he served as a past ;resident TPA Reading, past president of TPA Pennsylvania and a former Director of TPA Pennsylvania. He currently holds the position of secretary TPA Post Reading and secretary of TPA Pennsylvania Division.

Lee was an avid sports fan of the Eagles, Phillies, Reading Royals and the Fightin Phils.

He is survived by his wife Nancy and sister Beverly, wife of Dale Wentzel of Reading.

Also surviving are brother in-laws Terry J. Harbonic of Germantown, MD and Glenn T. Harbonic husband of Kathy Harbonic of Topton. Other survivors include nephews John Harbonic, Jeremy Harbonic husband of Beth Harbonic, Jason Harbonic husband of Jasmine Harbonic and Matthew Wentzel husband of Harmony Wentzel. Nieces Jodi Wentzel wife of Ricky Shuman, Jennifer Harbonic and Heather (Harbonic) Zimmerman. Great niece Abi Shuman, great nephew Nathaniel Shuman, great niece SaraAnn Harbonic, great nephews Abram Harbonic and Owen Wentzel. He will be sadly missed by his fur buddy Skippy.

A viewing will be held Monday morning December 11th from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon in St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 5 West Arch Street, Fleetwood. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to either TPA Scholarship Trust or Berks County Deaf and Hard of Hearing, 2045 Centre Avenue, Reading, PA 19605.
