Leon Gordon Humer, 77, of Fleetwood passed away early Sunday morning December 19, 2021 in his home after a long, courageous fight with cancer. Born at home in Fleetwood, he was the son of the late Florence (Gordon) Himes and Stanley Humer. He was a graduate of the class of 1962 at Cedar Cliff High School in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.
Leon served thirteen years in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran. He served on the Admiral's Staff on board the U.S.S. Coral Sea.
His favorite past time was spending time relaxing at his cabin in Tioga County. He also enjoyed fishing, carpentry, reading about history, and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his beloved wife of 47 years, Julieta, he is survived by his three sons Leon Jr. of California; Ronald, husband of Sonia, of Fleetwood and Seth, husband of Tiffany, of Oley; his 5 grandchildren Steven, Cristine, Gordon, Leonald, Ashley; and his siblings Judith Bauer and Nadine Bretz.
Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to USO.org.
