Leroy H. "Skip" Schultz, age 84, of Blandon, passed away on August 17th in his residence surrounded by his family. He was the companion of LaRue R. (Kieffer) Younker for the past 40 years.
Born on August 16, 1931 in Reading, the son of the late Harold and Pauline Schultz.
Skip was a U S Army veteran of Korean War. He received the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.
He had worked at Western Electric and later AT&T Reading for 30 years retiring in 1985. Prior he worked at the former Letisse Handbags, Inc. Reading.
Leroy had many interests which included golfing, fishing, swimming and being an Eagles fan. For many years Skip loved cats and cared for many neighborhood stray cats
Skip is survived by his companion LaRue and step daughter Tammy L. (Younker) wife of Patrick S. Evett of Blandon. Son Joseph Schultz husband of Kimberly Schultz of Stonycreek. Grandson Harrison Schultz and granddaughters Amanda L. Prokop of Kutztown and Holli A. Prokop of Blandon.
A funeral service will be held Friday August 21st at 11:00 AM from the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. A viewing will be held 9:00AM to time of service.
