Lewis Kocher, Jr., age 78, Fleetwood, passed away on January 13, 2016 in Penn State Health St. Joseph's Medical Center.
Born on June 27, 1937, in Topton. He was the son of the Lewis H. Kocher Sr. and Edna S. (Frederick) Kocher.
Lewis was an Air Force technical sergeant who retired after 20 years. He served two tours of duty during the Vietnam War. Returning to Berks County after his retirement he was hired by East Penn Manufacturing, Lyons Station working for 24 years retiring in 1999.
He loved fishing and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Memberships included Air Force Sergeants Association, VFW Post 38, Horace Kieffer American Legion Post 625, Fleetwood Orioles Nest #23, Lyons Fire Company and Hamburg Moose Lodge 523.
Survived by his children Daniel J. Kocher husband of Ralene Kocher of Exeter Township, Rita M. Kocher of Schuylkill Haven and Brenda J. Kocher – Rothermel wife of Charles R. Rothermel of Maidencreek Township. Also surviving are grandchildren Danette L. Kocher, Gunter L. Kocher, Jessica R. Heister, Amy L. Kocher and David L. Reimert.
Lewis was preceded in death by a son John F. Kocher.
Services will be private with burial in Gettysburg National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Lewis's memory to Volunteer Services at Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 South Lincoln Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042.
