Lillian M. Hoch, age 94, formerly of Fleetwood, passed away on October 25, 2014 at the Topton Lutheran Home. She was the wife of Lester A. Hoch, with whom she shared 68 years of marriage. She was the daughter of the late Oscar George and Cora (Stump) George.
Born on May 19, 1920, Lillian grew up on the family farm in Greenwich Twp. She was a 1937 graduate of Kutztown High School. She married Lester on May 18, 1946 at Frieden's Church, Lenhartsville, and then moved to her husband's home in Fleetwood where she resided until 2004. She worked several years as a secretary for the former Pinnacle Corporation, Fleetwood. Thereafter she worked in the office of her husband's insurance agency and devoted herself to the raising of her family. She loved to cook.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood, where she was active in the Women's Guild. She was also a long-time active member of the Fleetwood Grange.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley B. George and Lester F. George.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her three sons and their wives, Franklin and Dori, Maidencreek Twp., Daniel and Elaine, Fleetwood, and Kenneth and Carole, Greenwich Twp. She is also survived by a sister, Elaine (George) Spooner and her husband Albert, Windsor Twp. There are four grandchildren, one step grandchild, three great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 5 West Arch St., Fleetwood, PA 19522. Visitation will be prior to service starting 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private in Fleetwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church at the above address. Condolences
