Lloyd E. Olinger, 90, formerly of Fleetwood, passed away Sunday January 6, 2019 in Keystone Villa at Fleetwood, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Lucille E. (Moyer) Olinger died in 2001 and Betty Lee (Baker) Sprague Olinger died in 2015
Born in Richmond Township he was the son of the late Paul Olinger and Alice (Moyer) Olinger.
He was a graduate of Fleetwood High School Class of 1945. Lloyd was a U .S. Army veteran.
In 1958 he became owner and operator of Olinger's Exxon Mobil gas station and auto repair service on West Main Street in Fleetwood for forty years. In 1962 he opened an Nationwide Insurance agency and in 1967 he became a realtor and as well as a licensed real estate broker. He was very active in the Fleetwood community as member of Fleetwood Jaycees and Rotary Club. In 1961 he ran for mayor and held that position till 1969
Lloyd was an active member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Molltown where he was a choir member for many years. In his retirement he started the choir for The Village's UCC in Lady Lake, Florida in 2004 as well as singing for theChristian Choral in The Villages from 2004 thru 2014.
He enjoyed playing golf, baseball, bocce, basketball and loved watching the Phillies and the Eagles football, as well as Duke basketball.
Lloyd is survived by his children Cynthia L. Raymond of Boyertown, Lynn M. Mertz of Fleetwood and Kevin D. Olinger of Fleetwood. His late wife Lucille had two daughters Louise Bertolet of Millville, Delaware and Nancy Machemer of Fleetwood. He has eight grandchildren and five step grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren.
Other survivors include a brothers Harold Olinger, Curtis Olinger and Warren Olinger..
Lloyd was preceded in death by his wives Lucille, Betty Lee; brother Arlan and grandson Kevin, Jr.
A private memorial service will be celebrated for Lloyd at his beloved St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Molltown at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Molltown.
