Aulenbach
November 6, 1938 – August 13, 2018
Born at home in Richmond Township, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd K. and Helen A. (Hetrich) Snyder.
Nettie was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood, volunteering for the Women's Guild and National Prayer Breakfast.
She had also served as secretary of the Fleetwood Council Community Organization until stepping down a few years ago.
An avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, she especially loved watching Chase Utley play. She also enjoyed playing cards and bowling in the Fleetwood Ladies Bowling League, which cemented numerous lifelong friendships.
She is survived by twins Carol M. Aulenbach, Spring Township, and Darryl L. Aulenbach, Fleetwood.
Nettie also leaves a sister, Harriet L. Clauser, wife of Russell Clauser, and 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and nearly 30 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a half-brother and two half-sisters.
A 1956 graduate of Fleetwood High School, Nettie enjoyed singing alto in the school's female quartet. She also helped her father with the family's butchering business, Snyder's Meats.
Her first secretarial jobs were with Reading Foundry & Supply and then Western Electric. She later worked for the Borough of Fleetwood for about 20 years, retiring in 1993 as borough secretary.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Sat., Aug. 25 at St. Paul's U.C.C., 5 W. Arch St., Fleetwood. A celebration of life will follow at 11. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul's U.C.C. Music Ministry Fund or the American Heart Association ( www.heart.org ).
