Mae F. Border, age 102, formerly of Fleetwood, passed away Saturday May 12, 2018 in Kutztown Manor.

She was the widow of James W. Border, who passed on April 26, 1994.

Mae was born in Windsor Township, the daughter of the late Thomas C. Hoffman and Abelina S. (Schappell) Hoffman.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood for the past 78 years where she helped in the kitchen with potpie dinners and baking shoofly pies and corn pies.

One of her favorite hobbies was making braided rugs using old clothing for fabric. Many of the rugs were used in her home and she could even tell you whose clothes were used. Her other interests were baking, canning mustard beans, and gardening.

Mae is survived by her son Marvin W. Border of Milton, PA, Grandchildren

Margaret A. (Border) wife of Rev. Damon Anderson of Swanzey, NH, Melissa S. (Border) wife of Steven Rodgers of Durham, NH and Jeffrey W. Border husband of Ashley (Kreisher) Border of Lewisburg, PA. Great grandchildren Liam Rodgers, Graham Rodgers and Eliana Boarder.

Also surviving is a brother LeRoy W. Hoffman, of Fleetwood. Mae was preceded in death by a sister Florence (Hoffman) Gehman.

A viewing will be held Friday evening from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday 10:00AM to 11:00AM from the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Fleetwood Cemetery.
