Margaret "Babe" Goodhart, 90, of Fleetwood, PA passed away peacefully on August 27, 2016 in the Evans Retirement Center, Fleetwood, PA. Margaret was the wife of the late Hayden Y. Goodhart. They were high school sweethearts who spent their lives on their family farm in Fleetwood.
Born on July 18, 1926, in Washington County, PA. "Babe" was the daughter of the late Emil Tiderman and Edna (Johnson) Tiderman and the youngest of ten children. She was preceded in death by her best buddy and grandson, Ryan Snyder, and her eight brothers and sisters Emil, Elma, Sam, Mildred, Lawrence, Ethel, Harry and Ellis.
Margaret was a graduate of the 1944 Fleetwood High School class. She was employed by Tarsus, Inc. of Fleetwood, PA and was a waitress at Dairyland in Temple.
Babe is lovingly remembered by her children Vicki Lynn Snyder, wife of Stu Snyder, of Fleetwood, PA and Carleton Emil Goodhart, husband of Michelle Goodhart, of Reading, PA. She was a devoted Nanny to her five grandchildren: Kerry Snyder, husband of Mindi Snyder, Ryan Snyder, Erin (Goodhart) Kurtz, wife of Chris Kurtz, Eric Goodhart and Kimberly Goodhart. She is survived by her six great grandchildren : Morgan, Ian and Blake Snyder and Noah, Carly and Jacob Kurtz. She adored and loved her grandchildren and was so proud of them all.
She enjoyed her trips to Shawnee State Park for the Tiderman family reunion and cherished those gatherings with all her Tiderman family. Margaret especially loved the Christmas Holiday and having her family gather at the farm. Above all, she found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren. Nanny loved baking muffins and cookies with Kimmy, her 4 o'clock coffee and Reeses with Ryan, and she loved watching old movies and playing pretend with Erin. She took joy in reading "Kerry the Kitten" with Kerry, and loved playing with the Christmas decorations and putting them up by the fireplace with Eric.
The Goodhart and Snyder families would like to express sincere gratitude to all of those who offered love, prayers and support through Babe's battle with dementia.
The family would also like to thank the Evans Retirement Center and a special thanks to the Evans Family and Ruby for the wonderful care and compassion provided to our Nanny.
