Marie A. (Lenhart) Boyer, 92, of Fleetwood, passed away peacefully at Keystone Villa of Fleetwood on October 9, 2017 with her loving family by her side.
She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed.
Marie was born in Wanamakers on May 12, 1925 a daughter to the late Clarence S. and Eva S. (Klingaman) Lenhart.
She and her late husband of 50 years, Raymond H. "Red" Boyer, were married on July 1, 1945 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Smoke Church, Hamburg
Marie was employed as a cafeteria cook for 15 years at the former Fleetwood Joint Jr. Sr. High School and later as a floor supervisor and retail store manager for Penn Dutch Cookie Corp. Fleetwood.
She was a faithful member of St. Paul's U.C.C. Church, Fleetwood, and a 1942 graduate of Hamburg High School.
Marie was very active in the Fleetwood community. She was involved with her church's Women's Gild and a devoted member of the church choir for 50 years. She was also and active member of the Fleetwood Jaycees, serving as President for the Jaycee Wives. Marie was a Cub Scout Den Mother, Member of F.C.C.O. (Fleetwood Council of C munity Organizations), Fleetwood Lioness's, and a member of the Fleetwood Sr. Citizens.
She Loved roller skating from an early age, even winning blue ribbons for her talent. Her personal travels took her throughout the United States and to many countries, with Germany as her favorite to see "The Passion Play".
She enjoyed cooking and baking, always sharing her cookies and prize A.P. cakes with anyone who visited. Marie was a person who cared about others. She was kind, generous, hard-working, spunky and funny as she traveled through life. Her family gave her great joy.
Preceding her in death were her husband; a son-in-law Ned T. Kintzer; a sister, Edith O. Bagin; and brothers: Elmer C., Robert D., Paul K., and Thomas A. Lenhart.
Marie is survived by two sons: Richard A. and wife Warrene of Breinigsville; Dennis R. and wife, Nancy, of Fleetwood; and Dianne M. Kintzer, Morehead City N.C. In addition, she is survived by six grandchildren: Andrea, Jessica, Resica, Brandon, Amie, and Erin; eight great-grandchildren: Drew, Kylan, Bryce, Lauren, Teagan, Maura, Samantha, and Gabriel.
In addition to her children, surviving is a sister, Grace E. Shollenberger, Fleetwood, and a brother, James A. Lenhart, Hamburg.
A viewing will be held on Saturday October 21, 2017 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 at St. Paul's U.C.C Arch Street, Fleetwood, with Rev. Patrick J. Morris officiating. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marie's memory to St. Paul's U.C.C. Memorial Fund.
