Marie Hehr, 85, of Arden Courts, Allentown, formerly of Fleetwood, passed away on February 20, 2021.  She was the wife of the late Harold L. Hehr.  Born in West Reading, PA, on May 12, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Eldred K. Stauffer and Ruth (Shomgard) Stauffer.

Marie was the valedictorian of her Myerstown High School class of 1953.  She went on to graduate from Gettysburg College and began teaching junior high social studies in the Kutztown School District, where she spent her long and creative career.

Marie and Harold loved to explore new places and traveled extensively throughout the United States and the world.  Marie enjoyed journaling and faithfully wrote detailed accounts of every one of their trips.  They were faithful supporters of the arts and enjoyed going to New York City, Philadelphia, and Reading for various types of performances.  In addition, Marie lovingly cared for the cats which the two of them adopted.  She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church Fleetwood.

Survivors: sister Kathryn (Melvin) Jones; nieces Megan Jones and April (Andrew) MacIver; grandnephews Iain and Angus MacIver.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 18 ^th at 2:00PM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood, PA.  Contributions in Marie's memory can be made to Gettysburg College, Box 423, 300 N. Washington St., Gettysburg, PA 17325 (memo – Scholarships).
