Marilyn J. (Shadler) Miller, age 87, formerly of Fleetwood,  resident of Maidencreek Place, Reading, passed on Tuesday April 26, 2022 in her residence. She was the wife of the late Leon E. Miller, who passed on May 26, 2013. Born in Reading, to the late Daniel B. Shadler and Josephine M, (Haas) Shadler. Raised by Charles and Josephine Heister and Daniel and Helen Shadler.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood.  Where she was very active serving as a Deacon, Elder, Cook, taught Sunday School for 30 years, a member of Senior Choir and the Wednesday Club.

Marilyn interest were many from volunteering at Rainbow House, cooking and canning in the summer. Doing jig saw puzzles with 1000 to 5000 pieces, playing solitaire and reading  She loved her road trips to play miniature golf.

Marilyn is survived by her children Ricky M. Sassaman husband of Patricia Sassaman of San Antonio, Tx; Neil A. Sassaman husband of Debbie Sassaman, Blandon; David M. Sassaman husband of Connie Sassaman, Manning, SC; Sean M. Miller Fleetwood, Susan H. (Sassaman) wife of Bruce A. Fritzinger, Fleetwood. Also 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Richard B. Sassaman, daughter Renee L. Sassaman, siblings Janet (Shadler) Neuheimer, Barbara (Shadler) Weidenhammer) and Wayne Bright.

A viewing will be Saturday April 30th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a service at

11:00 AM in St. Paul's United Church of Christ Church, 5 West Arch Street, Fleetwood. Entombment in Berks County Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers contribution can be made in Marilyn's memory to St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
