Mary Jane Schofer died on the day of her 101st birthday, February 18, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob J. Schofer.
A native of Fleetwood, she was the 5th child of Alfred and Elda Schlegel. She graduated from Moravian College and worked at Fleetwood Craftsmen as an executive secretary. After marriage, she became a homemaker and support partner in the Schofer family business in Topton. She proudly raised three daughters: Cynthia Phillips, Rebecca Weiland and Mary Beth Naden. She also was delighted by her 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. The later 29 years of her life she resided as a valued resident of the Highlands, Wyomissing.
A celebration of rembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on March21, 2025 at the Highlands, 2000 Cambridge Avenue, Wyomissing.
Contributions in her memory can be made to help others, as was her strong belief, at Lutheran World Relief (lwr.org) or the American Kidney Fund (kidneyfund.org).
