IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary A.
Shuman
August 1, 1922 – September 13, 2018
Mary A. Shuman, 96, of Blandon, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018, surrounded by her loving family in her residence at Keystone Villa.
Born in Ruscombmanor Township to James and Elizabeth (Seidel) Eschbach, she was one of twelve children. Mary was the wife of the late Stewart F. Shuman, who passed away on November 3, 2001. They celebrated 56 years of loving marriage.
Mary's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a long-standing member of Maidencreek church where she participated in the Joy Givers and Quilters. Mary was a loyal member of social clubs and service organizations including the Blandon Lioness Club, Blandon Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and the Order of the Eastern Star East Penn Chapter #336.
Mary's life centered around the love of her family. Her life's priority was her dedication to her husband, her two children, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Mary enjoyed cooking and was known for her hospitality, with a pot of soup on the stove to share. Mary appreciated the merits of a clean house and strove to keep her home, lawn, and gardens in pristine condition.
Mary is survived by her children Rebecca S. (Shuman) Wright, wife of E. Thomas Wright; and Dr. Michael S. Shuman, husband of Bonnie (Moyer) Shuman; grandchildren Andrew Shuman, husband of Holly Shuman; Jeffrey Shuman; Jonathan Shuman, husband of Kristi Shuman; Megan Wright- Esterly, wife of Christopher Esterly, and Katelyn Van Goethem; great-grandchildren Aliyah Shuman, Pierce Shuman, Tyden Shuman, Teagan Shuman, Sammy Shuman, Sophie Esterly, Miles Esterly, and Ava VanGoethem.
The family would especially like to thank her personal caregivers Mary Master and Kathy Rabun, the staff at Keystone Villa at Fleetwood, Assured Assistance, and Aseracare Hospice.
