Miriam R. Link, 75, of Blandon passed away Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, in ManorCare Health Services, Laureldale. She was the wife of the late Carl W. Link, who passed on April 28, 1986.
Born in Reading on Jan. 24, 1936, she was the daughter of the late George E. Kline and Ruth C. (Royle) Kline.
Miriam had worked at the former American Bank; District Justice Office in Leesport; former tax collector Ruth Randazzo; and last working for N.G.N. Manufacturing.
Miriam was a member of Maidencreek Church, Blandon. She was past president of the Joygivers; past president and treasurer of the Blandon Lioness Club; treasurer of the Blandon Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for 20 years; secretary-treasurer of the Blandon Civic Association; Camp Fire Girls leader for more than 15 years; past Boy Scout Leader; and councilwoman. She was "1981 Citizen of the Year for Maidencreek Township" and recognized by the United Way in 1986 for her contributions to Berks County.
She is survived by four children: David C., husband of Sue A. Link, Mertztown, Judith (Link), wife of John G. Cuddehe, Herndon, VA, Karen R. (Link), wife of Wesley Nace of Jim Thorpe, and Jeffrey O. Link, Blandon. Also grandchildren: Matthew Link, Nicole Link, Justin Link, Michael Cuddehe, Johnny Cuddehe, Zachary Nace, Nicole Nace, Alex Link and Jared Link. Two great-great-grandchildren, Paige Link and Lana Link.
Other survivors are six siblings: Edith (Kline) Mc-Elwee, George C. Kline, Carolyn (Kline) McElwee, John Kline, Audrey (Kline) Kinsel and Phyllis Kline.
Services will be Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 11 a.m. from the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc. 117 West Main St., Fleetwood, PA 19522. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.
