Obituary

Ray G. "Pop-Pop" Wanner, age 68, of Fleetwood, passed on Monday September 10, 2012 in St. Joseph's Medical Center, Bern Township. He was the husband of Dorothy L. (Bemis) Wanner, they were married 14 years on August the 14th. Born June 28, 1944 in Richmond Township, son of the late George J. and Alma L. (Mertz) Wanner.
Ray had been employed by Garden State Tannery, Fleetwood for 43 years retiring in 2006. His passion of the past thirty years was training and raising hunting beagles. He was a member of Pocono Beagle Club, Leesport. Ray loved sports and rarely missed attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Ray was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood. He also was a member of the Horace Kieffer American Legion Post 625, Fleetwood.
Surviving is his wife Dorothy and two daughters Kelly D. (Wanner) Blankenbiller of Oley and Tracy L. (Wanner) wife of Kery Reifsnyder, Fleetwood. One step son Wayne S. Sheaffer Sr.and his wife Marisol Sheaffer of Lancaster. Also four grandchildren Gavin R. Blankenbiller, Garet K. Blankenbiller, Brock D. Reifsnyder and Chase O. Reifsnyder. Two step grandchildren Wayne S. Sheaffer, Jr. and Zhané Sheaffer.
Other survivors are two brothers Lee Wanner and his wife Esther Wanner of Fleetwood and Warren Wanner and his wife Eleanor Wanner of Fleetwood. One sister Mary (Wanner) and her husband Melvin Steltz of Douglasville. He was preceded in death by a sister Edna Wanner.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday September 14 at 10:30 am from St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 5 West Arch Street, Fleetwood. A viewing will be Thursday evening from 6:00pm to 9:00pm from the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc. 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood and Friday 9:30 am to time of service at the church. Burial will be in St. Paul's Union Cemetery, Fleetwood.
