We were lucky to have loved him. Richard Bieber, our Dad, died on July 3, 2024. In that moment, our family lost their sure and steady anchor. He was devoted to our mother, Leona (Glauser) Bieber.  The world will be a bit more drab without his bright blue eyes and engaging grin.

He was an electrical draftsman, working for Gilbert Associates and RPA Engineering. While he enjoyed his work life, the outdoors truly brought solace and joy to him. Nature soothed his soul and renewed his spirit.  Bowhunting and fishing were his passions as well as Silver Sneakers, biking, and walking.  He and Leona enjoyed traveling across the U.S.  He loved his John Denver music. Those lyrics spoke to him.

Born in 1942, he grew up in Kutztown, the adored son of Violet and Luther Bieber. He met our Mom in 1960, and the rest is history as they say. They loved, laughed, and lived together for the next 63 years. The ripples in his pond include three daughters - Cheri ,wife of Terry Kunkel, Penni, partner to Jeff Scheck, Marci, partner to Sue Kendra, and also one son - Michael, husband to Marilyn Ortiz Bieber. These ripples expanded to four beloved grandchildren - Jessica ,wife of Matthew Jordan, Matthew Kinn, Seth, husband to Samantha Blincoe Kunkel, and Hannah Kunkel. Those circles skipped to three great granddaughters - Sophia, Savannah, and Scarlett.  We were everything to him and he to us.

He loved God and was a faithful servant.  A willing hand and quiet smile were his trademarks. He furthered his community as a Mason; endeavoring to make our world a better place.  We will miss the peanut butter eggs and chocolate candies.

Our Father was a good, solid, honest man. He persevered- overcoming many obstacles.  We are so very grateful for the blessings of this man, our Dad.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berks Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, 2045 Center Ave., Reading, Pa. 19605. Burial services will be private.  A memorial service will be held at St. John's United Church of Christ, Pricetown, at a later date
