Richard L. Brunner, age 82, of Walnuttown, passed away on Friday February 2, 2018, in the Reading Hospital Medical Center, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Deanna R. (Phillips) Brunner and they celebrated 58 years of marriage on November 19th.

Born in Lyons, he was son of the late George W. Brunner and Helen M. (Krick) Brunner.

He was a U S Army veteran who served in the 584 Transportation Company in Germany from October 1957 to October 1959.

Richard had worked for former Red Cheek, Incorporated  as a manager for 35 years. He then joined Oley Mechanical till its closing and last working for M & M Mechanical, Fleetwood till October 2017.

He enjoyed being in the outdoors working on his home and yard, where he took pride. Fondest of the company of his dog, Bear who was always by his side.

Richard was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are his wife Deanna, children Lori M. (Brunner) Weidner of Muhlenberg Township, Jeffrey L. Brunner husband of Jennie (Yeager) Brunner of Leesport, Jody R. Brunner husband of Dea (Sheidy) Brunner of Blandon, Kelly A. (Brunner) Shuman of South Heidelberg Township and Stacey L. (Brunner) Hewitt wife of Jeffrey Hewitt, Reading. Also thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Other survivors include sisters Geraldine (Brunner) Bittenbender of Blandon and Bonnie Lynn (Brunner) Young of Fleetwood. He also has four nieces and two nephews.

A viewing will be held Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by funeral services in the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. Burial will follow service in St. Paul's Union Cemetery, Fleetwood. Memorial contributions can be made in Richard's  memory to Berks County Blind Association, 2020 Hampden Blvd., Reading, PA 19604
