Richard J. Folk, age 85, formerly of Fleetwood and Pottsville, passed away on Wednesday May 20, 2026, in Forest Hills Rehabilitation Center, Weatherly, PA.
Born in West Leesport, Berks County the son of the late John M. Folk and Lucy Moore Folk. He was a U S Army veteran serving from 1960 to 1963.
Prior to his retirement he worked for East Penn Manufacturing, Lyons Station, PA in the maintenance department.
Richard loved hunting, fishing and had been a member of the Evansville Hunting Camp. He enjoyed his bus trips to NASCAR races and attending local racetracks. Also going to the Reading Phillies games with his brother Willie.
Richard is survived by his daughter Beth A. (Folk) Wessner wife of Jeffrey Wessner and son John P. Folk husband of Lindsay Folk. Grandchildren Brooke Folk, Courtney Riveria, Lauren Wessner, Adam Wessner, Step- grandchildren Ryan Schaffer and Evan Schaffer. Four great grandchildren Tobias Crayton, Annalise Riveria, Tillian Riveria and Stella Riveria. Also, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Wilbert Folk and sister Joan Hoch.,
A visitation will be held Friday May 29th from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 7:00PM in the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Richard's memory to the Alsheimer Association.
