July 6, 1949 – June 3, 2024
Richard S. Kolb 74, of Fleetwood, Pa. entered into rest after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer 6/3/24 with his family by his side.
He was born in Phoenixville, son of the late Irvin & Gladys Kolb of Spring City. He attended Christopher Dock Mennonite H. S., Lansdale, Pa. then transferred to Owen J. Roberts H.S. Pottstown, so that he could study agriculture & graduated 1967. During H.S. he started a hatchery business, raising ducks & geese. At 16, he, also, went to auctioneering school. He drove truck for several years, then travelled to Zaire/Congo in 1978 working with a Construction Co. in quality control.
He was adventurous and travelled extensively in Europe, S. America, Asia, & Africa ... in 35 plus countries. More recently, his business included exterior restoration of buildings.
Richard was a lover of exotic animals .... owning llamas, alpacas, Ostriches, .... and a camel, named "Buddy" for 25 years.
Richard is survived by his Partner of 20 years, Diane Lewis of Fleetwood. 2 sisters (twins): Doris Kolb & Dorothy Harnish of Souderton, Pa., Lester Kolb (Sandra) of WA, Ernest Kolb (Nancy) of Souderton, Ruth Kolb and Sharla Padilla, .... and nieces & nephews. ....2 sister-in-laws: Ruth Kolb and Sharla Padilla, .... and nieces & nephews
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Elvin & Gerry Kolb, ....and 4 infant siblings.
