Ricky P. Schlegel, Sr. of Molltown passed away on Sunday August 6, 2017 in his residence.
Born on May 22, 1953, in Allentown the son of the late Paul D. Schlegel and Lillian Lesher.
Ricky was a graduate of Kutztown High School class of 1971. After high school he excelled in his position as a mechanical draftsman working for Gilberts Associates, Reading. After leaving Gilbert's he started R & S Landscaping of Fleetwood. He had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Kutztown.
Ricky was a very caring person who always had a friendly smile. Needless to say his love for animals was well known; his compassionate soul gave home to many abandoned animals. He loved his children and grandchildren deeply and always made time to be with them.
Surviving are his two children Holly E. (Schlegel) wife of Brandon Seyler of Fleetwood and Ricky P. Schlegel, Jr., companion of Beth A. Williams. He is survived by three grandchildren Allister, Adalind and Evelyn. He is survived by his former wife Karen A. Bortz of Walnutport. Other survivors include siblings Paul D. Schlegel, Jr. Leesport, Lori A. Day of Leesport, Terry L. Schlegel of Kutztown and Linette Boyer of Dryville. He was preceded in death by his brother Kerry L. Schlegel.
A celebration of Ricky's life will be held on Sunday August 27th at 1:00 PM at 125 West Washington Street, Fleetwood.
