Robert James
Lessig
October 24, 1943 – March 20, 2021
Robert "Bob' James Lessig, Age 77, 0f Fleetwood, passed into the more immediate presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 20, 2021. He was born in Allentown on October 24, 1943, The son of the late Wilmer James Lessig and Myrtle Edna (Delp) Lessig.
A 1961 graduate of Emmaus High School, he also held an Associate in Theology degree. An Air Force veteran, he served in Goose Bay, Labrador and then in Florida, with a rank of Airman 1 st Class.
He was an auto mechanic at Pep Boys for many years, but his favorite time was spent in Christian ministry having Bible studies. A faithful member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fleetwood. His love of photography and poetry lead to his book "Poetry with some Flowers, Birds and Teddy Bears".
Before his illness, he and his wife Linda took many wonderful trips together including Disney World in Florida, four of the Hawaiian Islands, New York, Kentucky, Nashville, Tennessee, Branson, Missouri, Canada and the Bahamans.
Bob is survived by his wife, Linda Ann (Woods) Lessig with whom he shared over 25 years of marriage. Other survivors include sisters Shirley Conrad and Delores Fenstermacher and a host of nieces and nephews
He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Luther, William, Ronald and sister Jean .
A viewing will be Sunday March 28 th form 12:30PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00PM from the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood with Rev. Thomas L. Lang officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Union Cemetery, Fleetwood. Contributions can be made in memory of Bob to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 117 East Arch Street, Fleetwood, PA 19522.
