Robert David Machamer Sr, of South Lebanon, PA, and husband of Ellen Jane (Renninger) Machamer, departed this life with the sign of faith on Saturday, October 23 at the age of 90. His granddaughter, Eryn, describes him best of all, "To know him was to love him so, so much. He was the absolute best grandpa. He was the kindest, most loyal, funniest man in the world. He taught me many things throughout my life but most of all that family comes first, always. He was patient, protective and proud. He had a way of making everyone feel so special – both people and animals." His love for his family was demonstrated how the common man could be truly extraordinary.

Bob grew up in Pine Grove, PA, the son of Caleb and Mamie (Miller) Machamer, where he enjoyed playing baseball and basketball. After high school he served 2 years in the United States Army. He was employed by Quaker Alloy Casting Corporation and Empire Steel as a manager in production control. One of his greatest joys in retirement were the years he spent working with a group of golfing buddies at the Manheim Auto Auction.

He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Iona.

He is survived by his wife Ellen Jane Machamer, daughter Kelly Ann Arnold (husband Jim) and son Robert David Machamer Jr (wife Jean) and two granddaughters Eryn Foust and Ashley Arnold. He was preceded in death by his father Caleb and mother Mamie, and brothers Eugene and Richard.

Services celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, October 28 at Zion United Methodist Church in Iona with visitation to begin at 10:00am and the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Zion United Methodist Church in Iona, 1920 South Fifth Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042
