Obituary

Robert S. Picinich, age 84 of Fleetwood died Tuesday February 28, 2017 in Kutztown Manor. He was the wife of Marcia E. (Lavertue) Picinich, they celebrated 35 years of marriage on February 12th.
Born in Union City, New Jersey on November 3, 1932, he was a son of the late John Picinich and Rachel (Tarbocia) Picinich.
Robert joined the Navy and served during the Korean War. After leaving the Navy he graduated from Tenafly High School and continued on to Fairleigh Dickinson University receiving a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He worked as a production manager for the Polymer Corporation Reading retiring after 25 years.
Robert was a Yankkee and Giants fan, traveling many times to their stadiums. He also was an opera fan attended concerts in New York and Philadelphia. Later in life his bonus son Patrick taught him how sail and spent many hours on Lake Nockamixon. He loved to traveling and his trip to Mali Lussin, Croatia the birth place of his parents was the most memorable.
He is survived by his wife Marcia , daughter, Gail (Picinich) Anderson of New Oxford, PA and son John Picinich of Tempe, AZ. Two grandchildren Katie Oxenreider of Berlin MD and Ryan Anderson of New Oxford. Also a sister Patricia (Picinich) Swope of Rock Hills, NJ. Other survivors include his bonus children Cathy Sheets of Cleveland, OH; Sherry Gooch of Westerville, OH; Grant Doerrman of Kutztown and Patrick Doerrman of Fleetwood. Also seven bonus grandchildfren and seven bonus great grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his brothers John Picinich, Fred Picinich and bonus daughter Michele Doerrman. A visitation will be Saturday at 10:00am to 11:00am followed by a Prayer Service from the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Willow Creek Elementary School, 605 Crisscross Road, Fleetwood, PA 19522.
