Robert L. Weidele, age 88, of Dryville, passed away on Friday December 30, 2016 in Lutheran Home at Topton. He was the husband of Georgianna L. (Conrad) Weidele, they celebrated 56 years of marriage on April 22nd.
Robert was born on August 28, 1928 in District Township. He was a son of the late William Weidele and Frieda Peters Weidele.
He was a 1947 graduate of Kutztown High School.
In 1956 he started a business the Robert L. Weidele Carpenter / Contractor, Fleetwood celebrating sixty years in business this year. Robert was a member of Christ Mertz Lutheran Church where he served as a past church council member and sexton.
Robert had been an active member of the Topton Lyons Club. On September 13th he received a 55 year membership certificate. He also belonged to the Lyons Fire Company, Kutztown Fire Company and the Home Builders Association.
Some of his interests were taking long Sunday afternoon trips with his family and later going on camping trips to historical sites and national parks. He enjoyed hunting, going to breakfast and watching old classic TV shows.
Robert was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Georgianna and children Laurel A. (Weidele) wife of Keith G. Lantz of East Norriton, PA; Sandra L. (Weidele) wife of Alan Speicher of Fleetwood; Theresa L (Weidele) Solt of Reading; Roberta J. (Weidele) wife of David Wagner of Oley: Tina M. Weidele of Kempton: and Christopher G. Weidele fiancé of Kim Richards, of Dryville. Robert has nine grandchildren: William, Alana, Jason, Laurel, Carolyn, Joanna, Jennifer, Darryl and David. There are seven great-grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his grandson Earl Speicher.
A visitation with family will be held Monday Morning January 9th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. from Christ Mertz Lutheran Church, 16 Fleetwood Road, Fleetwood.
