Roberta M. Spotts, age 89, a resident of the Diakon Lutheran Home in Topton, formerly from Fleetwood, passed away on Friday March 6, 2015. The wife of Bobby A. Spotts, also a resident of the Diakon Lutheran Home in Topton. They would have been married 71 years on April 8th.
Roberta was born on June 27, 1925 in Hegins, PA. daughter of the late Delbert Dunkelberger and Carrie (Yoder) Dunkelberger. She was a graduate of Tri Valley High School in Hegins.
She had worked at the former Caloric Corporation in Topton prior to her retirement. Roberta was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Fleetwood. Roberta enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, collecting owls and observing birds.
In addition to her husband Bobby she is survived by her son William R. Spotts, husband of Carol Spotts of Fleetwood; a granddaughter, Angela (Spotts) wife of Justin Soumas of Blandon; two great – grandchildren Aiden and Ryleigh Soumas. Also surviving is a sister, Joyce (Dunkelberger) Schwalm of Mechanicsburg.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Romaine Hauck, Ardith Reinfeld and Geraldine Moyer.
A viewing will be held Wednesday morning 10:00AM to 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00AM at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 5 West Arch Street, Fleetwood. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Diakon Lutheran Home at Topton, Resident Activity Fund, One South Home Avenue, Topton, PA 19562.
