Brunner
February 2, 1949 – January 28, 2017
Rodney P. Brunner, age 67, of Kutztown, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday January 28, 2017 in Lehigh Valley In Patient Hospice Care in Allentown. He was the husband of Pamela L. (Fox)Brunner, they celebrated 13 years of marriage on July 7th. His first wife Donna K. (Printz) Brunner passed in April of 1984. Born in West Reading the son of the late Paul D. Brunner and Ethel M. (Dietrich) Brunner.
Rodney was a 1967 graduate of Kutztown High School where he played 2nd base on the 1967 county championship team. That year the Pirates Baseball Team requested a tryout for their team. He also played varsity basketball and was a member of the Cougar Tail.
Following high school he spent two years in the U S Army and served in In Vietnam. He had started working for Schaeffer Brewery, Fogelsville in 1975 and spent 27 years leaving after Papst Brewery purchased the company. He then worked for East Penn Manufacturing in Lyons for nine years retiring in 2002.
Rodney was a member of Christ Mertz Lutheran Church. He was Phillies sport fan and was diehard Eagles fan it never mattered if they won or lost. He loved baseball and coached Legion Baseball and Lyons Fire Company men's softball team. He loved going to casinos and could always be found at the poker slot machines.
He is survived by his wife Pam and brother Richard A. Brunner husband of Carol C. Brunner of Maxatawny Township. Nephew Nathan R. Brunner husband of Jessica L. Brunner of FleetwoodPam would like to thank her family, friends and Lehigh Valley Inpatient Hospice who have supported her and Rodney during his illness.
A viewing will be held Wednesday from 9:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. at Christ Mertz Lutheran Church 16 Fleetwood Road, Fleetwood. Followed by afuneral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Grimsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Mertz Lutheran Church or Lehigh Valley Inpatient Hospice, 2024 Lehigh Street, Allentown, PA 18103 The Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., Fleetwood is assisting the family.
