March 21, 1939 – December 28, 2021
Roger L. Anderson, 82, of Fleetwood passed away in December 2021. Born at home in Fleetwood, he was the son of Mary Jane (Peters) Anderson of Topton and the late James L. Anderson. He graduated in 1957 from Fleetwood High School. After high school, Roger enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and served until 1961. He was married to Phyllis J. (Moyer) Anderson.
Roger had worked for Berylco Corporation which became NGK Metals, from which he later retired.
. In his retirement, he worked for H. O. Foose Tinsmithing for 20 years as a pattern maker.
He loved woodworking and was a member of Bucks Woodturners and Keystone Woodturners, and he would spend Tuesday nights at Dave's in Michael Kehs Woodworking Shop.
Roger was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood Fire Company
Auxiliary, Perry Gun Club, Fleetwood Fish and Game Association, and the Fleetwood Fish Rodeo.
His favorite pastimes were hunting, going on hikes, and woodturning. Roger also enjoyed helping in the concession stand at the Fleetwood Community Carnival.
Roger is survived by his mother Mary Jane, son Barry M. Anderson (husband of Nancy) and daughter Doreen M. (Anderson) O'Neil (wife of Tim), grandchildren Erin O'Neil, Chase Anderson, and Kelsie Odhner (girlfriend of Chase), as well as grand-furbabies, Baxter, Oakley, and Torquey.
Other survivors include a brother Russell J. Anderson and sister Ruth M. (Anderson) Manmiller.
He was preceded in death by his brother David A. Anderson.
Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to
the Fleetwood Fish Rodeo c/o Mike Emerich 3845 Pricetown Road, Fleetwood PA 19522 in Roger's name.
