Ronald C. Rarick age 83 of Ontelaunee Township peacefully peacefully passed away on February 16, 2024, at Reading Hospital. He was born in Fleetwood, son of the late Clayton F. Rarick and Mabel S. Heinly Rarick.

Ronald. was a graduate of Fleetwood High School class of 1958. During his time in school he received the 8th grade American Legion award and played soccer and baseball. After high school he entered the U S Coast Guard serving on the icebreaker Eastwind in the Antarctica. Duty included 2 deep freeze operations and first icebreaker to go around the world.

Ron had been employed by the former Buten Paints as a salesman, and was awarded salesman of the year several times, retiring after 30 years.

He loved hunting and fishing and belonged to the Old Possessions Hunting Club. Ron also enjoyed metal detecting. He was also a member of the Old Antarctic Explores Club. While working for Buten Paints in the summer he played fast pitch softball for the Blandon Fire Company, and the team won several Berks County fast pitch championships.

Ronald  is survived by his son Matthew L. Rarick and siblings  Terry L. Rarick and Sherry L. (Rarick) Goddard, and, his grandchildren Jessica L. (Rarick) Flanagan, Matthew T. Rarick, Ronald J. Rarick, Madison K. Rarick and Riley C. Rarick. Also Six Great Granddaughters and one Great Grandson.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Clayton and Mabel and brother Kenneth F. Rarick.

Funeral arrangements are as follows: Viewing on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00AM at Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood, PA. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Maidencreek Cemetery, Blandon..
