Obituary

Ruth E. Miller, 91, formerly of Fleetwood peacefully passed away on Monday May 6, 2024.

She was the daughter of the late George R. Heinly and Elsie (Miller) Heinly.

Ruth was the owner/operator of the former Ruthie Pizza and Sandwich Shop in Fleetwood. It was the first sandwich shop in Fleetwood. She worked tirelessly for over 35 years, seven days a week only closing early on Monday each week to attend Bingo at the Fleetwood Fire Company. Ruth was well known for delicious Cheesesteaks and several people offered her a lot of money for her sauce recipe but she kept that secret to herself. Ruth was very spirited and opinionated and marched to her own tune. She lived the past 10 years of her life at The Lutheran Home at Topton after a diagnosis of Dementia. She was certainly an Icon in the Fleetwood Community.

Ruth is survived by her three children: Charles M. Miller, Jr. husband of Jean (Moyer) Miller of Douglasville, PA, Shirlene (Miller) Lamb wife of Bob Lamb of Bradenton, FL and Diane (Miller) Hansen of Topton, PA. Her surviving grandchildren are Christopher Miller, Faith Brown, Keith Bergstresser, David Bergstresser, Eric Bergstresser, Naomi Hansen, Elizabeth (Hansen) Seils, John Hansen, Theresa Cox, Collins Lamb and Michael Lamb. Her surving great-grandchildreen are Dominick Hutt, Michael Brown, Matthew Brown, Abigail, Jillian, and Jacob Bergstresser, Callie, Andrew, Aiden and Joshua Bergstresser, Aryanna Hansen, Jordyn Seils, Emmitt Lamb, Katlyn (Roberts) Wilson, Matthew Cox, Braydon Cox and Kyler Cox. Also a step - great grandchild Alexa Pennypacker.

Also surviving is a sister Darlene (Heinly) Miller. She was predeceased by her sibling's Harold R. Heinly, Kenneth R. Heinly and Anna D. (Heinly) Blatt.
