Samuel Thomas Shade, age 64 of Fleetwood, peacefully passed away on Thursday March 14, 2024, at Reading Hospital. He was born in Reading, son of the late Samuel E. Shade and Mary K. (Long) Shade Christman.

Sam for most of his life was a self-employed contractor doing mostly roofing and home repair.

He loved hunting and fishing, which lead to preparing his catch by smoking it. Sam enjoyed the smoking process so much that he tried smoking cheese, which became his favorite. His other pastime was going to auctions, his four favorite places were Leesport Auction, Renninger's , Schuylkill Haven, Wiazelek Auction, Macungie and Dyn-A-Mite Auction, Fleetwood.

Sam is survived by his daughter Jennifer A. (Shade) Muniz grandchildren Jasmine L. Muniz and Lucas M. Flores.  Also surviving are his siblings David Shade, Daniel Shade, Nancy (Shade) Addison, Diane (Shade) Urlich, Glenn Shade and Carol (Shade) wife of Gerald Paris. Other survivors include many nieces and nephews.  A special thank you to his niece Megan for all her care for Sam.
