Sarah Ellen Heckman, born on October 18, 1928, Richmond Township, PA to the late Curtis H. and Annie R. (Brossman) Adam. Peacefully passed away on February 7, 2024, at The Lutheran Home at Topton in Topton, PA.

Sarah found joy in life's simple pleasures and had a deep love for gardening, cultivating an expansive vegetable garden that brought her great satisfaction. Growing up, she worked on the family farm, cherishing the connection to the land and the hard work it entailed. She often expressed her dislike for winter because it meant she couldn't indulge in her passion for playing in the dirt.

A dedicated member of Trinity Bible Fellowship Church, Sarah served her community by teaching Sunday school for many years, leaving a lasting impact on those she touched with her kindness and wisdom.

She is survived by her loving son, Frederick R. husband of Kim (DeHart) Heckman; granddaughter, Dorene J. (Heckman) Byler; brother, Jacob B. Adam; sister, Florence (Adam) Bertolet; great-grandson, Luke A. Byler; and great-granddaughter, Genevieve H. Byler. Sarah was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Mary Jane (Adam) Schmehl and Ester Adam.

Funeral arrangements include a viewing from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, February 12, 2024, at Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc. 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood, PA 19522, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at the same location. The burial will take place at Moselem Church Cemetery, Kutztown, PA.
