Obituary

Sherie R. (House) Weber, 76, of Fleetwood, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 16, 2025.

Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank "Doc" Szoke and Sadie (Gillmore) Szoke. A 1967 graduate of Fleetwood Area High School. She continued her education at Moravian University, graduating in 1970.

In 1972, she married the love of her life, David W. Weber. Together they shared a life full of family, travel, and community involvement. Sherie was a devoted mother to her son, James W. Weber, and took great pride in his achievement of becoming an Eagle Scout. She served on the council of the Hawk Mountain Council BSA.

Sherie worked as a clothing buyer and as a manager of The Coat Rack at the Reading Outlets before retiring in 1983. Known for her warmth and hospitality, she hosted large family gatherings for over 35 years, including Thanksgiving dinners and Memorial Day picnics that often welcomed more than 30 guests. An accomplished cook and baker, her kitchen was the heart of her home.

She loved to travel, from the Maine coast and Bermuda to Europe, Santa Fe, and family trips to Ocean City, Maryland, and Mohonk Mountain House. She was also an enthusiastic tennis player, a member of Clay on Main in Oley.

Sherie had a lifelong love of animals, especially her many dogs and cats.  Her last dog, Max, she personally rescued from the side of the road. Her deep love for both animals and people was a true reflection of her generous and caring spirit.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, David W. Weber; son, James W. Weber, and his wife, Jessica M. (Rahn) Weber; her sister, Linda (House) Reichardt; half-brothers, John House and Michael House; half-sister, Val House-Thoms; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her beloved grand-dog, Watson Weber.
