June 1, 1964 – January 20, 2025
Teresa Ann Hope, 60 of Orefield PA, passed away on Monday January 20th 2025 at her residence. She was the wife of Philip Ian Hope to whom she was married for 19 years. Born on June 1st 1964, Teresa was the daughter of Albert Pfennig and the late Kathleen (Mertz) Pfennig, mother to Joseph Wehr (deceased).
Attained GED Certification and as a sideline she was a sales person for Princes House and Home Interiors, before joining Allen Organ in the early 1980's working on electronic circuit board development. In 1997 she joined a development company Surface Measurement Systems, a scientific instrumentation business, helping establish the North American office in Allentown, she progressed from a service engineer onto managing the office and went on to recruit and manage a large team of engineers, scientists, production and administration group before moving into business development.
In a change of career she by chance found herself starting a small gardening business growing and selling perennials, as well as offering home gardening
services to people who needed help, she successfully completed the course and became a Master Gardener which extended her knowledge and further inspired her to help others, such was her passion. She learned how to develop grow and register Daylilys with the "American Hemerocallis Daylily Society" and offering a service that provided Memorial Certificates. Socially she enjoyed being a member of a local Ladies Red Hats group. She later returned to SMS working part time to help implement "Odoo" a new office management / production/service software where she worked until Feb 2024 when she was forced to take leave of absence and concentrate on a health challenge.
Survivors: In addition to her loving husband Philip Hope of Orefield PA , Step son Mark Hope and wife Marlene of London UK, Father Albert Pfennig, Stepmother Jane Pfennig, of Reinholds, PA, Granddaughter, McKenah Hallie Wehr of Allentown PA, Sister Marjorie Pfennig of West Lawn PA, Brother Timothy Pfennig and wife Doris of Fleetwood PA, Brother Michael Pfennig (Deceased) and his wife Pam Pfennig of Fleetwood PA, Step Siblings: Donald Borden and wife Maureen of Sarasota FL, John Borden of Charleston SC, Deborah Mitchell and husband Alex of Wyomissing PA, David Borden and wife Ranae of Sinking Spring PA, James Borden of Sinking Spring PA and many loved Nephews & Nieces and not least by her beloved Cats, Barney, Charlie and Sylvi.
A Memorial Service will be held at Mae A Stump Funeral Home in Fleetwood PA on Friday Jan 31st arriving at 12:30pm for a service commencing at 1:00pm. There will be a celebration of her life after the internment at Berks Memorial Gardens in the Spring at a date to be determined.
