Thelma M. DeLong, age 75 of Boyertown, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015 in her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on October 30, 1939 in Longswamp Township the daughter of the late John DeLong and Alice (Moyer) DeLong.
She was employed at various area businesses, prior to her retirement she had been employed by Doehlers Jarvis in Pottstown for 16 years. Thelma was a member of the Gabelsville Athletic Club, Friendship Hook & Ladder Fire Company, Boyertown and Liberty Fire Company where she was known for her feistiness and love of shooting pool, playing poker and throwing quoits.
She was an avid Elvis fan and a serious collector of Elvis memorabilia. She was a big fan of Elvis impersonator Jeff Krick.
Thelma is survived by her brother Walter J. DeLong husband of Dorothy DeLong of Oley. Other survivors include eleven nieces and nephews and many cousins.
She was predeceased by her brothers John, Donald, Linwood and sisters Evelyn and Pauline.
Thelma leaves behind her loving and faithful cat of thirteen years Boots.
A viewing will be Wednesday evening August 12th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by funeral services at 7:00 p.m. from the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. Burial will be private in Berks County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to the Humane Society, 1801 North Eleventh Street, Reading, PA 19604
