Theresa (Sheetz) Bieber of Maxatawny, born February 29, 1928, in Ruscombmanor Twp., Berks County, died August 25, 2025, at Phoebe Berks at the age of 97 following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Elton Bieber, beloved mother to Geraldine Koda (the late Michael Koda) and Elaine Hoch (Daniel Hoch), and treasured grandmother to Angela Combest, Jared Hilbert (partner Michele Amos), Danielle Emily Hoch, and Sarah Pewterbaugh, and great-grandmother to Cora Pewterbaugh. She leaves behind many loyal, caring nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth M. (Adams) Sheetz and Charles N. Sheetz, an infant daughter, Shirley Mae, as well as a sister, Dorothy, and brothers Charles, Robert, William, Herbert, Albert, and John.

Theresa was a long-time member of the Fleetwood Grange, and she belonged to Christ Mertz Lutheran Church, Dryville, where she and the other "chow chow ladies" canned thousands of jars over the years. Theresa was a talented maker and generous giver of hand-stitched quilts, as well as a life-long gardener who, with her granddaughter, Emily, picked her last crop of wax beans just weeks before her passing. A voracious reader of books, especially Amish romances, she was also known to stay up late to watch "The Bachelor." Though she was half Irish, Theresa's cooking was all Pennsylvania Dutch. Holidays occasionally led to family squabbles about which were better, her mince pies (for those who believe that meat belongs in dessert) or shoo-fly pies, which she made by the half-dozen, but everyone agrees that she baked the very best "cut-out" cookies.

Visitation will be held at 10:00am on Friday, August 29 at Christ Mertz Lutheran Church, 16 Fleetwood Road, Fleetwood, PA, with a service beginning at 11:00am officiated by Rev. Martin Milne.
