Obituary

Ursa N. Melander Willman, 92, of Boyertown and Oley area, passed away on Wednesday September 27, 2017 in ManorCare Health Services, Laureldale. She was the wife of the late Rev. Charles L. Willman who passed on January 26, 2014 and the late Rev. Paul W. Melander who passed on October 16, 1976.

Ursa was born on November 5, 1924 in Caledonia, Missouri the daughter of the late Rev. Lon V. Kitchell and Grace T. (Dennison) Kitchell.

Ursa was a 1942 graduate of St. Louis High School. After high school she graduated from North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Ursa spent most of her life as a pastor's wife serving in Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, and Pennsylvania. In Pennsylvania she lived in the towns of Tamaqua, Boyertown and Oley. During her time in Boyertown she also worked at the former Boyertown Casket Company for 15 years.

She loved talking to people and traveled the world on mission trips. Ursa loved music and was a gifted guitar, mandolin, violin, piano, and organ musician.

She is survived by her children Rev. David W. Melander, husband of Janice Melander of Manassas, Virginia; Carol J. (Melander) Beltz, wife of Robert Beltz of Leesport and James M. Melander, husband of Cheryl Melander of Fleetwood. Also surviving are step children Dale C. Willman of Leesport, Gary L. Willman of Myrtle Beach, SC and Marlene H. (Willman) Gehris of Pottstown. Other survivors include grandchildren Mark, Elizabeth, Joseph, Andrew, Kaycee, Christopher, and great grandchildren Abigail, Brianna, Dadyen, Lilly, Henry, Lucas, Kassity and Owen.

Ursa was preceded in death by a daughter Karen Kay Melander.

A viewing will be Monday, October 2, at 10:00AM to 11:00AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00AM at the Mae Stump Funeral Home, 117 W. Main St., Fleetwood. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Boyertown.
