Verna Alice Meitzler, 89, of Maidencreek Township, passed away on April 17, 2024, at      Reading Hospital, West Reading, PA.

Verna was born on November 10, 1934, in Maxatawny Township, PA, to the late Allen H. Fink and Ellen (Becker) Fink. She graduated from Kutztown Area High School in 1952 and married Edwin H. Meitzler on November 30, 1952. Together they shared nearly 54 years of love and partnership until Edwin's passing on September 15, 2006.

Verna had a passion for crocheting and embroidery, often gifting her beautiful creations to family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time with puzzles, a hobby that brought her joy and relaxation.

Verna is survived by her daughters, Crystal K. (Meitzler) Miller, wife of Dr. Martin Miller, Susan Lynn (Meitzler) Borrell; sons, Perry T. Meitzler, husband of Shelly Meitzler, Mark K. Meitzler, husband of Kelly Meitzler, Troy C. Meitzler, husband of Barbara Meitzler, and Jason S. Meitzler; brother, Walter Fink; sister, Marie (Fink) Boone; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and was predeceased by 11 siblings.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing at !0.00 AM on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. The funeral home is located at 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood.  Burial will be at Berks County Memorial Gardens, 201 Evansville Rd., Fleetwood.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Berks Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services at kdhhs.net.
