Virginia M. Guinther

Virginia M. Guinther, 88 of Fleetwood passed away in her residence on Friday May 15, 2026. She was the wife of the late Harold Luther Guinther, who passed in 1987.

Born in Rockland Township, she was the daughter of the late Paul H. Delp and Beulah B. Boyer Delp. Virginia was a 1955 graduate of Kutztown High School. She had been a very active member of the former New Jerusalem Lutheran Church where she was a past president, secretary and treasurer of the Sunshine Society.

She was a dedicated employee at Boyer's Market at Boyer's Junction for 30 years, retiring in 2001. Where she was known for her baking, especially her shoefly pies. When needed she also would be the butcher and clerk.

At home she was an active gardener planting flowers and shrubs that would attract hummingbirds and butterflies. Her yearly vegetable garden had all varieties of plants. Her mini orchard included peach, cherry, apple trees and her nut trees of hickory, walnut and hazelnut.

Virginia loved to travel especially to Hawaii and Switzerland where she had friends and always made new friends.

Virginia is survived by her children Harold Lester Guinther (Anne), Lou Ann DeLong (Tom), Donna M. Guinther (Don), Sharon F. Guinther, Scott A. Guinther (Marcia), Julie L. Krick (Brian), and James A. Guinther (Tonia). Also, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. Sisters Barbara E. Kline and Irene A. Becker.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Harold Luther Guinther, son Darryl L. Guinther, grandson Riley Krick, brothers Paul A. Delp and Earl W. Delp.

A viewing will be on Wednesday May 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon at the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. Burial will follow in New Jerusalem Cemetery.
