Walter John Barwinski, a devoted husband and father, peacefully passed away on December 25, 2023, at Laurel Center, Hamburg. He was the husband of Nancy C. (Light) Barwinski. Married on May 16, 1970 they celebrated 53 years together this year. Born on October 9, 1941, in Reading, PA, son of the late Walter J. Barwinski and Stefania (Dmochowski) Barwinski.

Walter was an active member of the Victory Baptist Church, Reading, PA. He was a graduate of Reading High School. After high school he entered the U S Army and served honorably during the Vietnam War.

Walter had been employed by Arrow International now Teleflex in West Reading, retiring after 30 years.

He loved reading especially the Bible and had a vast collection of woodworking books. He looked forward to spring and trout fishing. He was known as Pop Pop to his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.

Walter is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, his son Michael J. Barwinski and, daughter Ann M. (Barwinski) wife of Shawn Long. Also, his grandchildren, Noah Barwinski, Jonah Barwinski, Austin Long and Alexa Long.

Funeral arrangements are as follows: Viewing on Saturday, December 30, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00AM at Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood, PA. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private in Berks County memorial Gardens, Fleetwood, PA 19522.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the St. Jude's Children Hospital or Hope Rescue Mission.
