Wayne H. Noll, age 86, of Ruscombmanor Township passed away on Tuesday November 8, 2011 at Chestnut Knoll Residential Community, Boyertown. He was the husband of Meryle J. (Hunsberger) Noll having been married 63 years.
Born in Ruscombmanor Township on January 9, 1925, the son of the late Charles A. Noll and Edna H. (Burkey) Noll Moyer.
Wayne was a U S Army veteran of World War II. He landed on D Day June 7. 1944 in Normandy on Omaha Beach. His brother Daniel landed on Utah Beach the day before. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge where he received a Purple Heart for his service and valor.
Wayne worked at the former Robinson Clay of Pottstown for 35 years. He also was employed by the Oley Valley School District retiring in 1985.
Throughout his life, Wayne was an avid hunter and sportsman. He spent his time hunting and trap shooting. A member of Pricetown Rifle & Pistol Club, Pike Township Sportsman's Association and RUSCO Hunting Club.
Wayne loved taking long scenic rides in the country which ended with stopping for ice cream.
He loved the Phillies and going to the casinos.
Survived by his wife Meryle and two brothers, George W. Noll of Absecon, NJ, and Carl E. Noll, husband of Pat Noll, Fleetwood; two sisters, Barbara E. (Noll), wife of Ray Levan, Ruscombmanor Township and Mary Jane (Noll) wife of Dale Wahl of Littleton, CO.
Also surviving is a sister in-law Oletta E. Noll, Blandon and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers Daniel B. Noll, Charles F. Noll, Richard W. Noll. And two sisters K. Arlene (Noll) Messersmith and Nancy A. (Noll) Bucks.
Services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday November 12, 2011 at Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. A viewing will be from 12:00 noon to time of service.
