Wilmer M. Brown, Jr., 91, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025 in New Tripoli, PA. He was born on January 25, 1934, in Fleetwood, PA.
Wilmer was a 1951 graduate of Ontelaunee High School. Following his graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958, where he was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, serving as a Morse code radio operator with the 3rd Armored Division. After his military service, he went back to working on the family farm until 1963 before beginning a long and dedicated career in manufacturing. He was employed by General Battery Corporation and Exide before retiring from East Penn Manufacturing.
Wilmer was an active member of his community throughout his life. He was a longtime member of the Historical Society of Berks County, a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows for 30 years, serving as treasurer for 20 of those years and a proud member of the Fleetwood Grange for over 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilmer Brown and Mary (Hafer) Brown; his sister, Lillian Rentschler; and his granddaughter, Courtney A. Brown.
Wilmer is survived by his sons, Timothy S. Brown of Troy, PA, and Mark A. Brown Sr.; his daughter-in-law, Kay Brown; his brother, David C. Brown, and sister-in-law, Christine Brown; his grandson, Mark A. Brown Jr.; his granddaughter-in-law, Mary Brown; and his grandson, Nolan J. Brown.
A viewing will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood, PA 19522. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Pricetown Cemetery, 23 Cemetery Road, Fleetwood, PA 19522.
